Yoga & Wellness Retreats in Morocco

The Sahara is one of the quietest places on earth. Our private wellness journeys are designed for yoga practitioners and anyone who needs to slow down: sunrise on the dunes, practice on riad rooftops, hammam rituals and days without rushing. You bring your mat; we plan the space and the rhythm.

Quick answer

Can you do a yoga retreat in the Moroccan desert?

Yes. A private wellness journey in Morocco can include morning practice on the Erg Chebbi dunes in Merzouga, quiet riad rooftops in Fes and Marrakech, traditional hammam and argan oil treatments, and slow days in places like the Skoura oasis and Essaouira. Camel Ride Trips, a local team from Merzouga, plans these as private tours of 12 to 14 days, with extra nights in the desert and time each day for your own practice. A yoga teacher can join on request, subject to availability.

🧘 Space to practice

Quiet rooftops, gardens and dunes at sunrise.

🌌 Desert silence

Extra nights in the Sahara for stillness.

♨ Hammam & argan

Traditional rituals in Marrakech and Fes.

🌿 Slow rhythm

Longer tours with fewer hours on the road.

Why Morocco for yoga and wellness

Morocco offers rare contrasts for a wellness journey: the silence of the Sahara, the cool air of the Atlas, the ocean breeze in Essaouira and the calm courtyards of traditional riads, often only a few steps from busy medinas.

In the desert, there is almost no light or noise at night. Mornings on the dunes, before the heat, are perfect for practice and meditation.

What a wellness journey with us looks like

  • Two or more nights in the Erg Chebbi dunes, with time for sunrise practice.
  • Riads and hotels chosen for quiet terraces and gardens.
  • A traditional hammam with black soap and argan oil in Marrakech or Fes.
  • Shorter driving days and free afternoons for rest, reading or walking.
  • Vegetarian and vegan meals on request throughout the trip.

Bringing a yoga teacher

If you would like a yoga teacher to join part of your journey, tell us when you book and we will check availability for your dates. Many guests simply bring their own practice and enjoy the space and silence we plan around it.

Best itineraries for a wellness journey

We recommend the 14-day Morocco at Leisure for the slowest pace, or the 12-day luxury desert tour, which includes two nights in the Sahara and ends by the sea in Essaouira.

Every tour is available in three levels: Basic (clean 2–3 star hotels), Mid-Range (3–4 star hotels and traditional riads) and Luxury (4–5 star hotels, boutique riads and a luxury desert tent with its own bathroom).
