Can you ride a camel near Casablanca?

Not in the desert: the nearest camel rides are around Marrakech, about 240 km away, or 3 hours by highway. On this private day trip we drive you there and back the same day, with a camel ride in the Palmeraie palm grove or the Agafay desert. Agafay is a stony desert with Atlas views, not sand dunes. For the tall golden dunes of the Sahara, choose a tour from Casablanca with a night in Merzouga, like the 4-day Casablanca to Marrakech desert tour.

  • About 3 hours' drive each way
  • Camel ride of about 1 to 1.5 hours
  • Free time in Marrakech

The Palmeraie is a palm grove on the edge of Marrakech, quick and easy. Agafay is a stony desert about 40 minutes from Marrakech, with wide views of the Atlas Mountains. Neither has sand dunes.

How long is the day?

Plan for about 11 to 12 hours, including around 6 hours of driving in total.

Can I see sand dunes on a day trip from Casablanca?

No. The Sahara dunes of Merzouga are too far for one day. Choose a tour from Casablanca with at least one night in the desert.

Can I end in Marrakech instead of going back?

Yes. We can drop you at your hotel in Marrakech instead of returning to Casablanca.
